LIRR - Breaking News

Dear Residents:

The LIRR announced today that when Grand Central Madison station, on the east side, opens later this year, the MTA will be adding 3 morning and 3 evening rush hour express trains serving Port Washington over and above the already proposed east side trains.

They will add 7:14am, 7:54am, and 8:28am, stopping only at Plandome, Manhasset, and Great Neck, and Port Washington. And at 4:16pm, 5:52pm, and 6:25pm in the evening.

While this is good news, the MTA and the Town of North Hempstead still need to find room for a pocket track (for additional staging) at the PW yard.

And, maybe, someday a second track between PW and the tressle.
