Discolored Water
Dear Residents in the vicinity of the Thayer Lane well: Over the past few months, you may have experienced some water service interruptions and discoloration in your water. We understand this can be confusing or of concern. First and foremost, the Village would like to assure you that the water remains completely safe to use and drink. The discoloration is caused by naturally occurring iron sediment that when disturbed inside our water mains causes the discoloration. The

Village post-storm report
Dear Residents, This is a quick report on the Blizzard of 2026 and its impact on the Village. With respect to snowplowing, we are very pleased to report that our roads remained passable at almost all times. In fact, I was out in one of the snowplows at 7 am, and the roads were in very drivable condition, even for regular cars. Based on the reports we have gathered, our snowplowing was better than that of almost all our surrounding communities. A big thank you to our Departme

Monopole Update--as of last evening
Residents, Good morning—some good news on a beautiful, snowy Sunday in Sands Point! As shared with you, the cell monopole on the Village Club campus, which hosted Verizon and T-Mobile, physically snapped in half and collapsed, unexpectedly, on Friday night, taking down those cell services in the area. I am glad to report that by 6 pm last night, less than 24 hours after failing, we were able to arrange for a restoration of service (Verizon only) with the deployment of a mob

Update on Collapsed Cellular Monopole at Village Club
Residents, As I shared with you last evening, the 110’ tall monopole at the Village Club (near tennis and 4 th hole), which serves the Club, Harbor Acres, Forest Drive areas, and that portion of Middle Neck Road, was at risk of structural failure. Last night, it snapped, and the top two-thirds fell to the ground, landing on one of the tennis courts. The Verizon and T-Mobile services were the affected carriers. We’re not sure which cell company (or third-party) owns the

The cellular monopole at the Club is leaning heavily and may be at risk of “structural failure”. If that happens, there will be a disruption to cell service, especially in Harbor Acres and maybe Forest Drive area. The cell carrier has been alerted and says they are urgently addressing. Emergency teams are moving in. It is not clear if they can st
